NFFF Training Courses

Our comprehensive one-day and three-day training courses, which are delivered at our Training Academy in Leeds and our Northern Ireland Training Hub in Kilkeel, are perfect for both newcomers to the industry as well as experienced fish friers who are looking to accelerate their learning to make their business more profitable and rewarding. We have a team of dedicated tutors all of whom have been successful in the industry winning awards and the respect of other fish fryers nationwide. Their knowledge, tips and tricks are invaluable and come from their many years of experience and award winning skills.

No matter how long you have been in the industry there is always room to pick up some extra knowledge!

One-Day Courses

Our one-day course is designed for people with existing catering or food retail experience but no practical knowledge of fish frying so we tailor this course directly to their needs concentrating less on the food hygiene aspects as this should already be known by the student.

The syllabus is purely practical and includes:

  • Fish, potato and batter: selection and preparation
  • Types of oils and fats
  • Hands on cooking including correct frying temperatures, range management and portion control
