British Takeaway Campaign responds to CIPD's 'supply shock' labour market report

Commenting on today's CIPD report showing further recruitment issues for employers,Chairman of the British Takeaway Campaign, Ibrahim Dogus said:

"This isn’t news to the takeaway sector which has been experiencing real skills shortages for some time and is struggling to recruit chefs in almost all cuisines, as well as the broader range of skills required to run successful takeaway restaurant businesses. As well as ensuring we have the right domestic skills such as specific T Levels for catering and hospitality, the Government needs to reconsider the inclusion of these skills in its approach to immigration. The takeaway sector currently contributes £4.5 billion to the UK economy, and it needs the right skills and policy if it is to continue to flourish.”
