Millers Fish & Chips has been crowned ‘Small Family Business of the Year’ at the Family Business of the Year Awards 2018, a celebration of the very best family businesses in Britain.

The award was presented during a glittering ceremony at the Mayfair Hotel in London attended by hundreds of guests from a whole range of sectors.

Miller’s was up against some of the finest family businesses in the country and was commended for championing their family business story nationally and giving a voice to the significant contribution family firms make to the UK economy.

David Miller, co-owner of Miller’s Fish & Chips said:

We’re a fourth-generation family business with strong roots in Haxby, so it’s an incredible feeling to be recognised on a national scale for the collaborative efforts of the entire family, as well as our amazing staff.

“This year has been a real whirlwind of emotions since we were named the UK’s best fish & chip shop at the National Fish and Chip Awards, so to receive this accolade is a real honour. We’ll proudly display this award at the front of the shop to represent a great victory for Team Miller’s!”

As the current champions of the National Fish and Chip Awards 2018, Miller’s Fish & Chips is committed to using their experience to support the hard work of fish and chip shops and other independent family businesses. They do this by offering masterclasses at their shop in Haxby for fish and chip shop owners as well as travelling across the country with industry partners to provide training to other shops.
