The chips are up at a North Yorkshire fish and chip shop after picking up another top honour from the world’s largest and best-known travel website. 

Scotts Fish and Chips at Bilborough, near York, has been awarded TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence Award on the strength of its customer reviews.

And, because it has been awarded the “gong” for five years, it has made it into TripAdvisor’s Hall of Fame.

This latest plaudit for the restaurant and takeaway, situated just off the A64, comes on the back it retaining its GF (gluten-free) accreditation from Coeliac UK, the national charity for people with coeliac disease and dermatitis herpitiformus.

And, last November, Scotts Fish and Chips was named Retail, Tourism & Leisure Business of the Year, in the York Press Business Awards. 

Recent feedback from Scotts’ customers – which has been rated 4.5 across 768 TripAdvisor reviews - include:

• Lovely gluten free fish and chips. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff; clean; quick service and freshly cooked. Convenient stop off, just off the A64 before York
• We stopped off on the way home after spending the day in York and were the last people in at 8pm. The staff were really friendly and helpful despite obviously having had a long day. The food was piping hot and freshly cooked. Fish, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter and a pot of tea £10.95. Couldn^t fault it and will definitely call again next time we^re passing
• The meal was excellent, we had the Golden oldies and there was more than enough and a great choice to pick from. The service was first class and all the young staff were very friendly. The restaurant was very clean and bright also the toilet^s. We will definitely be going back and would recommend it to everyone
