Uk’s Finest Fish & Chips Takes On Michelin-Starred Fine Dining For Prestegious AccoladeMillers Fish & Chips, a 4th generation, family-run fish and chip shop in Haxby, has been named as a finalist in the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2018, which take place on Monday 23rd April at Bath Assembly Rooms.
Working collaboratively with the industry, the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence celebrate the very best in English tourism. Miller’s is one of three finalists in the Taste of England category who have been recognised for food and service of the very highest quality.
Competition has been strong, with nearly 350 applicants across 18 categories representing all regions of the county. As the only fish and chip shop in the finals, Miller’s is flying the flag for their industry as they fight to prove that fish and chips is truly the nation’s favourite dish.
Nick Miller, who co-owners Millers Fish and Chips with his father, David, said:
"To be recognised on such a grand scale for our delicious fish and chips feels incredible because take great pride in the quality of our food, customer service –all delivered by a team we’re incredibly proud of too. All of our fish is line-caught and MSC certified which means our staff are able to talk to customers about where the food on their plate comes from.
"We worked harder than ever before as a team and a family in 2017 to win at the grand finals of the National Fish and Chip Awards, which are the Oscars of the fish and chip industry. Miller’s Fish and Chips will find out whether they’ve achieved a Gold, Silver or Bronze rating at the Awards ceremony on Monday 23 April.
