The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) are proud partners of the RNLI’s ‘Fish Supper’ fundraising campaign. RNLI Fish Supper is an annual charity event to raise funds to support the RNLI’s life-saving work. Participants sign up to hold their own Fish Supper for friends and family and collect donations for the RNLI.

Lindsay and Stuart Atkinson, owners of The Round O Chip Shop and The Cairnie Chip Shop in Arbroath, supported Fish Supper in 2016 and are eager to get involved over the weekend of 13- 15 October this year too;

‘The NFFF support and encourage any fish and chip shop owner no matter how big or small their business. We have been members of the NFFF for 31 years!

We spotted a link regarding the RNLI Fish Supper event, in the NFFF^s magazine The Fish Friers Review and jumped at the chance to sign up. We admire the sacrifices made by the lifeboat crew - often risking their lives to save others. The RNLI could not do this without donations, which is why we got involved.

The Arbroath RNLI lifeboat station is our local lifeboat station and many of the volunteers are regular customers.

Customers of our two shops, The Round O and the Cairnie Chip Shop in Arbroath, were delighted that we were supporting the RNLI and our local lifeboat lifestation. We are looking forward to this year already and are looking at ideas to encourage our customers to host their own fish supper.’

How can you get involved?

It^s easy. Not everyone is a Masterchef or can host their own Fish Supper, but they may want to get involved to support the RNLI and raise vital funds – and what better way to do so than by picking up supper from their local chippy? You can help with this and make a real difference. Host a Fish Supper in your restaurant, offer special menu deals, have donation points on your counters, or just spread the word in your community. It^s a great way to connect with people in support of a good cause.
