Finishing touches to the iconic pier are being hurried along this week ahead of the opening this weekendand an excited Dino is confident that Papas will soon enough be recognised as the best chippy in Cleethorpes.

He said: "People have been crying out for a good fish and chip shop in Cleethorpes. Our food speaks for itself and people need to try us to believe it.

"No other fish and chip shop has ever been named the best in the country by the BBC and that is a massive compliment for us. We are ecstatic about that.

"This is the best location in the country and we have had interest for bookings from everywhere.

"We want to make Cleethorpes the capital of fish and chips and make the resort a real tourist destination. It will benefit so many local businesses in the area.”

Much of the Pier’s original interior, including the tables, chairs and stunning chandeliers have been maintained.

The majority of the 100 jobs created as a result of Papa’s acquisition have already been filled as the company looks ahead to a busy summer.

Excitement greeted the news of Papa’s arrival to Cleethorpes after it was announced in December last year.

The Pier’s ballroom for events and functions have been maintained in the transformation, as has the Victorian style tea room. Papa’s will also offering a number of concessions along the boardwalk of the venue, including ice cream and candyfloss stalls.

Diners will be able to enjoy the sounds of a live band who will frequently perform on stage in the ballroom. When they’re not there, a self-playing grand piano will keep customers entertained.

Dino, added: "We are really excited. We have had a tremendous response from everyone and have been inundated with messages asking when we are opening.
