Miller Boys Get Saucy for Comic Relief!

Top 3 National Fish & Chip Shop Award Finalist Spend Good Friday In a Bath of Mushy Peas to Raise Money for Comic Relief

Millers Fish & Chips, who were recently declared one of the UK’s top 3 Fish and Chip shops in the National Fish & Chip Awards 2017, are taking a very special plunge this Friday as part of Comic Relief.

The award-winning, 4th generation family-run restaurant will have staff members spending the evening in a giant bath of mushy peas. For the whole evening, the proceeds of every pot of mushy peas purchased will be donated entirely to comic relief.

To add to this total, Millers will also donate an extra £1 for every photo shared on social media tagging the shop on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #MillersGetMushy

All of the Millers staff members will be abandoning their typical Millers’ shirts and frying gear in favour of official merchandise supporting Comic Relief – though their trademark bandannas will still be in plaice!

Nick Miller, who co-owns Millers Fish & Chips with his father, David, had the following to say:

"Fridays are always an extremely busy time for the shop, so we wanted to make the most out of the increased volume of visitors to raise as much money as possible for comic relief this year.

"With our local, Yorkshire roots, we can’t think of anything more fitting than submitting our staff members in the nation’s favourite accompaniment to our Fish & Chips, Yorkshire Caviar, better known as mushy peas to everyone else!

"The event will be taking place directly at the front of the shop, and we’ll be giving away free seafood samples as the queue grows. We’d love to see photos of the event online, so we’ll be donating an extra £1 per person to everyone tagging the shop in any photos across social media using the hashtag #MillersGetMushy – so come along and snap away. It’s all for a great cause!”
