Fish Friday Fundraising Fun at The Elite

Article Date: 2015-07-27

The Elite Fish and Chip Company in Lincolnshire has raised nearly £1,000 for the only national charity that works solely to help fishermen and their families.

The popular Lincolnshire fish and chip company took part in Fish Friday, the national annual fundraising day for The Fishermen’s Mission, and raised £925.42 for the charity thanks to its loyal customer base.

Staff at The Elite Fish and Chip Company’s restaurant and takeaway outlets in Lincoln, Ruskington and Sleaford donned yellow bucket hats and Fishermen’s Mission t-shirts on Friday 19th June.

Rachel Tweedale, from The Elite Fish and Chip Company, said: "This year is our Lincoln outlet’s 20thbirthday year so we decided to celebrate it by raising money for The Fishermen’s Mission.

"It’s great to be able to give back to the UK fishermen and their families who make the fish frier’s job possible.”

The Fishermen’s Mission is the only national charity that works solely to help fishermen and their families, reaching out to both active and retired fishermen by providing practical, spiritual and financial support as well as a vital emergency response service.
